In the ever-evolving realm of technology, impressive tools such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are adopted to address a multitude of challenges across a broad spectrum of domains, achieving results that are difficult to be matched by human capabilities. Due to their black-box nature, such technologies are facing difficulties in gaining acceptance, hindering further advancements. To overcome this, their results need to be explained in a human-understandable way, emphasizing the importance of integrating explainability into these powerful tools.
CrystalClear is a project that converges under its umbrella the domains of xAI (Explainable Artificial Intelligence), dialogue systems, and industry. In the context of this project, comprehending a machine breakdown or identifying poor machining quality is not only intriguing, but undeniably crucial for enhancing the system. The project involves a PhD student, two scientific collaborators and three professors, and it started January 2023 and it’s anticipated to end December 2024.
